Got Card?

Your library card opens the door to all the resources of the Arcade Free Library and the Pioneer Library System. You hold the information world in your hand with an Arcade Free Library / OWWL library card. if we don't have what you need, we can usually find it for you within the 42 libraries of the Pioneer Library System.

Beginning January 2007 patrons will need to remember to have their library cards with them when visiting the library. Without the library card, patrons will not be able to check out items, use the computers, place holds, etc. This is a procedure that has been in place and will now be enforced for several reasons. The primary reasons are for the patron's protection, confidentiality, and security. As part of a 42 library system, you'd be surprised how many people in the system have the same names. Having the library card will also make transactions more efficient and error free.

Parents, please remember to have your child's card with you if you need to take care of a fine, renewal, hold, etc. It is also important to use your own card, specifically, if you are planning on using a computer. If you have lost your library card, a replacement is $1.00.

Project Read

The Project Read Program at the Arcade Free Library, which is funded in part by the United Way, is undergoing a few small changes.

Calendars must now be handed in by the end of the following month. Also, staff will no longer accept calendars that are filled out in their presence.

We have an obligation to fulfill, not only to our Project Read participants, but to the program itself. We need to be sure that the program is being administered fairly, so that all can benefit.
