October 10th Already!
The rest of October looks like this:
Pre-School Story Hour: Wednesdays @ 10 a.m. - stories, crafts, music, games
Library Board Meeting: Tuesday, October 11 @ 7 p.m. - public welcome
National Friends of the Library Week: October 17 - 22 Become a Friend of the Library!
Free Friday Family Film Fest: October 21 @ 7 p.m. - doors open @ 6:45. This month come and watch "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" with us! Popcorn and drink will be provided.
Food-for-Fines Begins: October 24 and will end November 19.
...and looking ahead to November... Local author Cassidy O'Connor will be here to talk about her new book Diaries of the Dark Side.
Cassidy was here in 2009 when her book Haunted Buffalo was first published.

FYI - $24,000 ÷ 9
On Tuesday evening the Wyoming County Board approved their 2012 budget. The nine public libraries were not funded. For the past two years, Wyoming County libraries received $24,018.30 to divide amongst themselves. This year's $118,000,000+ budget has no appropriation for libraries.
What does this mean for Arcade? As you can see above, a loss of $2,668 translates into
+++ 133 books
OR
+++ 121 DVDs
OR
+++ 3 computers
OR
+++ 150 magazine subscriptions
OR
+++ 370 hours of clerical help.
